Ed specialises in civil common law. His practice is dominated by dealing with claims arising out of serious injury, clinical and professional negligence and injuries sustained in the workplace. Ed is currently advising on several claims worth in excess of £100,000 and one being worth in excess of £1.5million.

More generally Ed accepts instructions in commercial, 'soft chancery' ,landlord and tenant claims (both residential and commercial) and civil claims arising out of the actions of police forces around the country.

In addition to his injury work Ed has developed a significant employment practice and appears in tribunals around the country. Ed's multi-disciplinary practice places him in an excellent position to deal with claims arising out of injury from employment and in particular stress claims.

Ed has a niche interest in claims to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. He appears around the country in this regard and was recently successful in a claim valued in excess of £200,000.

In relation to family law, Ed acts for local authorities in public law proceedings in the County Court, the Principal Registry of the Family Division and the High Court. Ed has an extensive Ancillary Relief practice and advises in relation to interim applications for maintenance; variation of orders; prevention of disposition hearings, final hearings and wider TLATA related issues.
