Since joining Chambers in September 2003 he has continued to specialise in serious fraud work: he is presently instructed by the SFO on a fraud involving losses in excess of £100 million and has also been instructed on other cases by the Ministry of Defence and Customs.
In tandem with his fraud work, in the past three years Martin has been developing a general crime practice involving work for both Prosecution and Defence. Amongst others, he has successfully conducted cases of serious violence, sexual offences and dishonesty. He is presently instructed to defend a case of rape, kidnapping and false imprisonment and to prosecute a seven handed conspiracy to cultivate cannabis.
His interests include literature, theatre and cinema. He plays various sports badly but watches sport, in particular football and cricket, with far greater proficiency. He is married with two children.
