Shahram has a specialism in personal injury law and contractual disputes. He also undertakes residential landlord and tenant, contractual and general commercial disputes and police related work.
Personal Injury
Shahram is regularly instructed in all areas of Personal Injury law including employers’ liability, public liability, road traffic accidents and Fatal Accident Act claims. He has a special interest in accidents at work, highway maintenance cases and low velocity impact claims. He also attends inquest hearings in the Coroner’s Court and the High Court to restore companies to the register. Shahram is happy to work under conditional fee agreements where appropriate.
Civil - Other
He is also regularly instructed by a number of Police Forces in relation to Anti-Social Behaviour Orders, Sexual Offences Prevention Orders, Closure Orders and Football Banning Orders. In addition to this and given his Common Law expertise Shahram is instructed to appear in the Criminal and Family Courts where he has represented various interested parties in PII applications, disclosure requests and concurrent legal proceedings.
Shahram is regularly instructed by High Court Enforcement Officers in relation to disputes relating to the execution of the Writs of FiFa against goods and the enforcement process generally.
Choudhury v Thomas Willingale School: Represented the school in a claim for personal injury brought by a teacher who was claiming to have suffered stress at work.
Frazer Nash v Sheriff’s Office: Represented a defendant in a complex High Court case involving a writ of execution and subsequent enforcement.
Somerset v. Persons Unknown: Represented a landowner and developer in the High Court to successfully evicting eco-warriors from private land.
Environmental Tectonics Corp v Ministry of Defence: Junior Counsel representing the Ministry of Defence in a complex and sensitive commercial arbitration.
Newman v. Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis: [2009] EWHC (Admin) Represented the Commissioner of Police in relation to a Football Banning Order regarding the admissibility of evidence, disclosure of intelligence material and compatibility with the Human Rights Act 1998.
Contributing Author to the Kemp & Kemp tables on awards for handicap in the labour market, awards for the provision of care and awards for loss of congenial employment.
Away from work, Shahram enjoys both playing and watching football. He has a Cambridge Blue in football and plays for the Chambers' football and cricket teams. He has also run the London Marathon and cycled the London to Brighton Bike Ride for Charity.
Shahram also enjoys more relaxing activities such as Yoga as well as karaoke, where he is known to have a soft spot for 80's pop music.
