  9 Gough Square’s Christopher Goddard has had the following success in the Court of Appeal: Craner v Dorset County Council (2008). The appellant local authority appealed against a decision that a personal injury suffered by the respondent involved a breach of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 reg. 12 (3) and of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 reg.4.

  Claimant wins landmark action against the giant American drug company Merck Sharp & Dohme Limited (MSD): Andrew Ritchie represented the Claimant, Mr. Thomas, a 75 year old retired lecturer who was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis after his participation in a trial of the Vioxx derivative drug Rofecoxib.

  Morgan V UPS Ltd No. 2: Grahame Aldous QC has succeeded in upholding a costs order in favour of a Claimant who, it was held, had exaggerated his symptoms to the medico-legal doctors and failed to be candid with the court and then only beat a Part 36 Payment into Court by £629.
